PROJECT OVERVIEW

Catherine Hill Bay was an important coal mining and port facility in the 20th Century. After the disuse of the Coal Washery, it was due to be demolished.

SCOPE OF WORK

The scope of work included the demolition and removal of the complete Coal Washery.

UNIQUE CHALLENGES
 Demolition work close to water.

Dismantling activities for the purpose of selling major industrial assets.

CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONS

A five man crew, disassembled the plant and loaded out the components over a 7 month period. Oxycutting and cranes were used for the dismantling operations.

Demolition of the remaining structures took place over the next two months and the site was handed back to Lake Coal for future development.

RESULTS

The Washery was purchased form Lake Coal (Peabody) and our sales team managed to sell all components from the Washery back into the Coal industry, both in New South Wales and Queensland.

The purchase price to the Client, made an otherwise costly demolition project into a profitable exercise, with the knowledge that they were also dealing with a highly competent Company in terms of demolition capacity.
