Process pipes were cut up into salvageable lengths for recycling or scrap. This 7 week program was completed with 7 labourers and cutters using 5 tonne and 3 tonne forklifts, a 30 tonne excavator, a manitou, boom lift and a 100t crane.
The work was completed with 24 hour shifts for both the insulation removal phase and the demolition phase. Initially, 2 men completed insulation removal during the day, including oxy-cutting, and trans- porting materials; and then 2 men completed insulation removal during the night. For the demolition component, 2 men completed demolition works during the day including oxy-cutting, operating and transporting materials; then 2 men completed demolition works during the night.
